ALBERTO PANCORBO
Born in the city of Soria (Spain) on the 18th of April of 1956 Pancorbo begins to paint from a very early age in his native city. At the age of 18 he transferred to the city of Barcelona with the ultimate goal to dedicate himself only to painting. In 1980 he became an exclusive artist of Sala Gaudi (Barcelona), which exposed his paintings for the first time in the international fair of art of Basiela (Swiss).
He began a period of exhibitions in different cities of Spain and overseas. In many of these exhibitions he obtained several prizes in various art contests. In 1985 he holds his first exhibition in Madrid and is awarded the “Artist revelation of the year” by the magazine Correo Del Arte de Madrid. The first publication detailing the paintings of Pancorbo is published in Barcelona in 1986 and afterward he moves to his new residence in Bogotá (Colombia) where he holds numerous exhibitions. These includes the United States, Mexico and others countries of The Americas. He successfully participates in numerous art fairs and auctions including world famous Sotheby’s (New York). In 1994 the book “Labyrinths of the Core” by Pancorbo is published, compiling great selections of his paintings. The book is featured in several publications of realistic art as well as other famous publications. His works are displayed in different private and public collections throughout The Americas and Europe. In 1998 Pancorbo moved to Miami where he lives at the present time, a city in which he has had numerous exhibitions for 16 years.
The young Alberto was extremely influenced by surrealists such as Dali
and the classic masters Velasquez and Bosco. He uses techniques that
rely on painstaking attention to detail for the re-creation of reality
with the fantasy of medieval craftsmanship. It is a combination of a
variety of technical and creative skills that result in Pancorbo's
personal style of romantic and fantastic realism. His rigorous attention
to perfection has been achieved after years of the exacting study of
figures, architecture, still-life arrangement, perspective, composition
and nature.
The basis of Pancorbo's technical mastery is a traditional and complete art education, a method of training that provided discipline and total understanding of the media of painting. With his knowledge and extraordinary ability to paint, Pancorbo creates his own original and personal style outside the formality of the academic tradition.
A visitor to the labyrinth of Alberto Pancorbo's imagination is
confronted at every turn with symbols both ancient and modern. They
allude to human existence, struggle, and frequently, human insensitivity
to the world. Caught in the chaos of urban life, traditional values are
sometimes lost or forgotten, or rendered meaningless. Pancorbo has
mastered a super-realistic style of painting that is capable of
transforming the totally imaginary into the totally convincing, in this
strange and bewildering world of the labyrinth . . .

Nace en Soria (España) el 18 de abril de 1956.
Pinta desde muy temprana edad en su ciudad natal trasladandose a Barcelona a la edad de 18 años con el unico fin de dedicarse solo a la pintura.
En 1980 entra a ser artista exclusivo de Sala Gaudi (Barcelona) la cual expone sus cuadros por primera vez en la feria internacional de arte de Basilea (suiza). Empieza su periodo de exposiciones por diferentes ciudades de España y extranjero. Obtiene varios premios en concursos de arte. 1985 primera exposicion en Madrid y es premiado como Artista revelacion del año por la revista Correo del Arte de Madrid.
El primer libro sobre la pintura de Pancorbo es editado en Barcelona en el año 1986, despues fija su residencia en Bogota (Colombia) donde empieza a hacer numerosas exposiciones incluyendo Estados Unidos ,Mexico y otros paises de America. Participa en numerosas ferias de Arte y subastas como Sotheby’s (New York).
En 1994 se edita el libro Pancorbo ( Laberintos del Alma ) recopilando gran parte de sus pinturas. Es incluido en varios libros de arte realista, y publicaciones.
Sus obras se encuentran en diferentes colecciones de America y Europa.
El año 1998 se traslada a vivir a Miami donde vive en la actualidad, ciudad en la que ha realizado numerosas exposiciones desde hace dieciseis años.
